Public Hearing
Village of Ellicottville Board of Trustees: Please take notice that the Village Board will hold a Public Hearing on May 20, 2025 at 6:00 PM. All speakers will have 3 minutes. ALL who attend will be able to speak. However, Please note, that only Village taxpayers, Village Residents and/or Renters (renting and living in the Village) will have standing with the Board. The hearing is to provide Village Residents/Renters and Taxpayers with the opportunity to speak on the following items: Proposed amendment to Section 11-12, Historic Preservation Appeals, in the Zoning Local Law; Proposal to over ride the NYS Tax Cap; Proposed 2025-26 Village Budget. Rules of Order for Public Hearing: The purpose of the hearing is for the Board to receive opinions and questions from members of the public with respect to a specified topic/law, etc. Thus, those are asked to comply with the rules for conducting the hearing. Record of Attendance is required. Public attendees must sign in at the start of the meeting. The chair will recognize the person(s) to speak. Please wait until recognized by the chair. Comments should be limited to the topic of the hearing. Comments about other issues can be made during “public comment” of a regular meeting. Comments should be prefaced with your name and address. You are asked to be clear and concise in your presentation out of consideration for other persons wishing to speak. A hearing is not a debate between private parties or with the Board. Rather, it is a time for the board to hear viewpoints. Thus, you are asked to address the Village Board. You are asked not to address other members of the public. The Board will attempt to answer questions but may have to delay response if information is not available.
