Dance Arts Raises $2,000 for HomeCare & Hospice Foundation

Olean dance studio continues a tradition of giving back as proceeds from its biennial performance benefit local patients and families.

OLEAN - A longstanding Dance Arts tradition of combining a love of dance with giving back to the community has resulted in a $2,000 donation to the HomeCare & Hospice Foundation.

The gift represents proceeds from the Dance Arts 2026 Performance, held June 7 and 8 at the Olean High School auditorium. The biennial production featured dancers of all ages and a variety of themed performances, with this year’s event benefiting the HomeCare & Hospice Foundation. Giving back has been part of the Dance Arts performance tradition since its first show in 1983, with proceeds traditionally donated to a local nonprofit organization.

“When we held the first performance, it was suggested that we donate a portion of the proceeds to a local nonprofit. What a wonderful idea - showcasing the dancers’ talents to the community while also supporting a worthy cause,” said Marcia Gallineaux-Hubert, owner of Dance Arts.

The partnership extended beyond the stage. HomeCare & Hospice staff and volunteers assisted with setting up and operating the refreshment table following both performances, adding another community connection to the weekend.

“Dance Arts has created such a meaningful tradition by combining something its dancers and families love with an opportunity to give back,” said Cassie Kelsey, Staff and Outreach Manager. “Our staff and volunteers were happy to lend a hand during the performances, and we are incredibly grateful that their generosity resulted in a $2,000 gift to our Foundation. It is a wonderful example of one local organization supporting another.”

The $2,000 donation will help the HomeCare & Hospice Foundation support programs and services benefiting patients and families served by HomeCare & Hospice.
