OLEAN - The Olean High School Sports Boosters are hosting their 42nd Annual Endowment Raffle this April. Tickets are $100 each and offer 22 chances to win, including: (1) $10,000; (1) $5,000; (1) $3,000; (1) $2,000; (1) $1,000; (2) $500; (5) $300; and (10) $100. Each ticket admits four people to the drawing party on Saturday, April 25th at the Pulaski Club, 1104 North Union Street, Olean.
The final of three Early Bird Drawings will take place on Tuesday, March 11th, with the winner receiving $200 and the ticket seller of the winning ticket earning $100. The winning ticket will be re-entered into the main drawing in April.
All proceeds benefit the Olean High School Sports Boosters Club, which supports athletic programs throughout the Olean School District. The Boosters promote, sponsor, and carry out projects that enhance the student-athlete experience, funding equipment and resources that fall outside the annual school budget. Each year, the organization helps ensure teams have access to essential equipment not otherwise covered by district funding.
Jeff Spears, Booster Club President, said the early momentum has been encouraging. “We’re thrilled with the energy and support we’re seeing so far,” he said. “Selling more than 330 tickets by our second Early Bird drawing speaks volumes about how much this community believes in Olean athletics and our student-athletes.”
For those attending the raffle party, the evening will offer more than just the drawing itself. “In addition to the great food and drinks from the Pulaski Club, guests can try their luck on more than 30 themed raffle baskets,” said Char Zetwick, Raffle Chair for the Boosters. “We’re also inviting teams, organizations, and individuals to donate baskets. It’s a fun way to get involved and directly support Olean athletics.”
New this year, the Sports Boosters are offering a limited premium seating option known as the Husky Elite Eight Table. Only eight tables are available, each providing reserved seating for eight guests, all of whom must hold a raffle ticket for admission. Each Husky Elite Eight Table includes a private relish tray and cheese tray, along with two drink tickets per person, creating an enhanced experience for the evening. Husky Elite Eight Tables are available to the general public for $200 per table. Availability is limited, and advance reservations with payment are encouraged.
Funds generated through the raffle and VIP table sales help support the Sports Boosters’ three sports banquets - Fall, Winter, and Spring. All varsity athletes and coaches receive free admission to the dinners, while parents and friends attend a reception in the auditorium. The Boosters also fund spirit items, plaques, and other recognitions for student-athletes, ensuring each banquet is a memorable celebration of athletic achievement.
The drawing party begins at 6:00pm and will feature complimentary food and drinks for ticket holders, a Chinese auction, a 50/50 raffle, and music. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Olean High School Sports Boosters office, located at the high school, or through various Booster committee members.
