Allegany State Park Celebrates 21 Years of National Public Lands Day
Volunteers invited to give back to Allegany State Park during National Public Lands Day on September 26
SALAMANCA - Join Allegany State Park as we celebrate National Public Lands Day with 21 years of participation! National Public Lands Day is our nation’s largest one-day event designed to give people a chance to give back to the public lands they love by volunteering for a few hours on a variety of service projects that enhance both the park and the visitor experience. We have numerous volunteer projects in the works with something for everyone to participate in!
This year’s event takes place Saturday, September 26 on the Quaker side of the park. The day will start off with Check-in/Registration from 9:00-9:30am at the Quaker Museum. Service Projects will be from 9:30am-12:30pm, followed by a picnic lunch at the Quaker Picnic Pavilion at 1:00pm. Participants are asked to come dressed for the weather and expect to get dirty. This event will be held rain or shine.
We ask that attendees pre-register by September 14 using Eventbrite. If you do not have computer access please call 716-379-4597 to register. We will also gladly accept walk-in volunteers on the day of the event. Please use the above contact or check out our Facebook page if you would like more information.
Our parks, trails, forests, and waterways serve as common ground where we share experiences, build memories, and work side by side. National Public Lands Day is a collective act of care that strengthens our connection to the landscape and to each other. Through service and celebration, we acknowledge our place as custodians of these shared treasures, ensuring the American tradition of public lands endures for those who will inherit them.
