Eddie Szpaicher Scholarship Fund Awards 2026 Ellicottville Central School Recipients
The Eddie Szpaicher Golf Classic continues its tradition of giving back, awarding scholarships to two ECS graduates while preparing for its 2026 tournament at Holiday Valley.
ELLICOTTVILLE - The Eddie Szpaicher Golf Classic Scholarship Fund has announced its 2026 Ellicottville Central School scholarship recipients, awarding scholarships to graduating seniors Jackson Kruszynski and Bianca Bush as they prepare to begin their college careers this fall.
Bush will attend Duquesne University, while Kruszynski plans to attend D’Youville University. The annual scholarships are funded through proceeds from the Eddie Szpaicher Golf Classic, a memorial golf tournament established in honor of longtime Ellicottville resident, Eddie Szpaicher.
Since the tournament was founded following Szpaicher’s passing in 2012, it has raised more than $70,000 for scholarships benefiting Ellicottville Central School students. The event was created by family and friends to celebrate Szpaicher’s love of golf, sports, community, and his well-known motto, “It’s nice to be nice.”
This year’s Eddie Szpaicher Golf Classic will be held Wednesday, July 8 at Holiday Valley’s Double Black Diamond Golf Course, with a pre-party the night before at Wayne’s Depot. The event features an 18-hole, four-person scramble with a 10:00am shotgun start, along with lunch, beverage stations, and an après-golf gathering. This year’s theme is 70s Disco (in honor of Eddie’s 70th Birthday!) Golfers, pre-party attendees, and those interested in sponsoring the tournament can register online at BigEdGolf.com.
