Eliza Schrantz Joins Cornell Cooperative Extension Cattaraugus as 4-H Youth Educator
Former 4-H participant returns to inspire the next generation through youth programs, horse shows, and hands-on learning opportunities.
ELLICOTTVILLE - Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cattaraugus County is pleased to welcome Eliza Schrantz to the CCE Cattaraugus team as a 4-H Youth Educator. Eliza participated in the Cattaraugus 4-H program from the time she was a Cloverbud through High School. She participated in every program that she could including horse and livestock (sheep and rabbits).
“I want to share my love of 4-H with other kids,” said Eliza, “helping them have the best possible experiences, just like I did growing up.” She went on to say that “4-H was a major part of my life; the county fair was always one of my favorite parts of the year. I have so many amazing memories and lifelong friends.”
After 4-H, Eliza attended Lake Erie College and graduated with a degree in Equine Facilities Management and a minor in English. She was looking for a job that would engage her and allow her to use her skills. Eliza has worked in many areas of Hthe horse industry including marketing and media, training, and barn management.
Eliza will oversee our horse and dog programs this year while learning the ropes in other areas of our 4-H club management. She will hit the ground running with a horse show scheduled in May as part of our Open Horse Show Series.
If you need information about our Horse Show Series or would like to volunteer or participate in our 4-H programs, please contact the CCE office at 716-699-2377 or email cattaraugus4h@cornell.edu. CCE offices are located in the Ellicottville Town Center at 28 Parkside Drive, Ellicottville NY 14731.
