Fitness for Real Life: A Smarter Approach to Exercise

Fitness for Real Life: A Smarter Approach to Exercise

Preston Personal Training focuses on sustainable fitness, functional movement and community, helping clients build healthy habits that fit into real life.

Preston Personal Training is more than a personal training studio. We're a team of expert trainers on a mission to make health and wellness the norm for communities.

Here's why that mission matters. More than 4 in 10 U.S. adults had obesity during August 2021 to August 2023, according to the CDC. That's a lot of our neighbors. But PPT isn't here to make health your whole life or your whole personality. We're here to make it simply doable.

SO, WHAT DO WE OFFER?

Online coaching. You work one-on-one with a trainer, and we focus on the 5 foundations: movement, food, sleep, stress, and hydration. You get your plans through a coaching platform, and we use food tracking apps to keep things simple. Follow the plan, see results.

Group classes. Pilates, yoga, boot camp, TRX and more. Put the pieces together and you get results.

"I couldn't walk for three days." We hear this a lot. New clients tell us they're nervous about group fitness because they tried a class somewhere else and left feeling like they "almost died" or couldn't walk for days afterward.

That is not how a PPT class is designed to feel. Yes, we want you to work hard. But there's a big difference between an effective workout and one that just wrecks you. Some soreness is normal when you try something new. Being flattened for days usually means a class skipped the basics: a proper warm-up, a sensible progression, and a cooldown.

Our classes are built on science-backed principles: a thoughtful warm-up, a focus on strength and functional movement, and always stretching to finish. And how a workout feels matters far more than comfort. Researchers who study exercise psychology have found that how we feel during exercise is widely seen as a predictor of long-term adherence. In other words, the best workout is one you'll want to come back to.

MEETING PEOPLE WHERE THEY’RE AT

A big disconnect in the fitness industry is assuming everyone loves fitness as much as the instructor does. It's not a coach's job to make you as obsessed with the gym as we are. If it were, you'd be an instructor too! Our job is to focus on tiny changes that keep you coming back, to create a safe space, and to make your workout the best hour of your day. And if something hurts, your coach should help you work through it, not hurt you further.

That's why PPT clients range from 16 to 80-years-old. We focus on science that works for everyone. It's never too late to start, and if you've had a bad experience before, we'd love the chance to change it.

ADULT GYM CLASS

We work with grandparents who want to keep up with their grandkids, high school athletes building strength for the next level, and people looking for a little community. I like to call it an adult gym class, and the research backs the social side. In one study of 69 medical students, working out in a group lowered stress by 26 percent and significantly improved quality of life. Participants who exercised alone worked harder but didn't see significant changes in any measure except mental quality of life. As the lead researcher put it, the communal benefits of doing something difficult while encouraging one another pay dividends beyond exercising alone.

Our approach is different, and that's why it works. Don't just take our word for it. Check out our client testimonial videos on our Facebook page @PrestonPersonalTraining.

Ready to get strong, online or in person? Text "I'M IN" to 716-307-7540 and we'll talk through your options for getting started with PPT. Science backed movement that actually gets you the results you want. Get off the hamster wheel of no results. It’s very possible and it all starts with you.
