Jamestown to Host 2026 Babe Ruth 13U World Series; Tryouts Now Underway

Joseph B. Crawford named team manager as local players invited to try out for the August 2026 World Series at Diethrick Park.


JAMESTOWN - The 13U Babe Ruth World Series is officially returning to Jamestown, New York, and will be hosted at the historic Russell E. Diethrick, Jr. Park from August 14-22, 2026. The Babe Ruth World Series Committee has announced that Joseph B. Crawford, a lifelong Jamestown resident, has been selected as Manager of the Jamestown 13U Babe Ruth World Series Team.



Crawford and his coaching staff are currently seeking 10-15 players from the surrounding areas to represent Jamestown on the World Series stage. Player roles being evaluated include pitcher-only, position players, two-way players, defensive specialists, and speed-based players. Tryouts are currently being conducted. If you missed the February 15th tryout, additional tryout dates are scheduled for Sunday, February 22nd and Sunday, March 1st from 1:30-3:30pm at Gold Star Athletics, 1765 Lindquist Drive, Falconer, NY, and the coaching staff is continuing to evaluate interested players as roster decisions move forward. 

Eligible players must have been born between May 1, 2012 and April 30, 2014, and must reside in or attend school in one of the following districts: Jamestown, Falconer, Frewsburg, Lakewood, Cassadaga, Chautauqua Lake, Bemus Point, Westfield, Sherman, Panama, Ripley, Brockton, Fredonia, Dunkirk, Silver Creek, Forestville, Gowanda, Randolph, Clymer, Pine Valley, Little Valley, Franklinville, Salamanca, Ellicottville, or Warren, PA.

Selected players will be required to participate in the Jamestown Babe Ruth League. Once the roster is finalized, the team will practice multiple times per week throughout the spring and summer. The program plans to compete in tournaments, pickup games, and scrimmages in preparation for the World Series in August.
