Kissing Bridge All Seasons Resort Names Matt Thomas as New General Manager
Veteran ski industry leader with nearly three decades of operational, safety, and executive experience will guide the Glenwood resort’s next era of growth and innovation.
GLENWOOD - Kissing Bridge All Seasons Resort is proud to announce the appointment of Matt Thomas as its new General Manager. Thomas brings nearly 30 years of experience in the ski industry, spanning frontline operations, mountain safety, risk management, and executive leadership at both large destination resorts and community-focused mountains.
A native of Pennsylvania, Thomas began his career on the ground level of resort operations, working in rentals, teaching skiing and snowboarding, and later managing lift operations. In 2003, he became a certified ski patroller, building a deep foundation in on-mountain safety, emergency response, and guest care. He remains an active member of the National Ski Patrol, a role that continues to influence his thoughtful, safety-first approach to leadership.
“We are beyond excited to bring Matt to Kissing Bridge,” said Rhett McNulty, Chairman of Kissing Bridge All Seasons Resort. “He has a truly unique set of skills, with experience at both large and small resorts, deep technical and operational expertise, and a proven track record across safety, events, and guest experience. This is a big win for a community resort like Kissing Bridge. Matt’s caliber, perspective, and leadership will help us honor the mountain’s history while executing a thoughtful revival that introduces new activities and offerings, all managed at a world-class level.”
Thomas joins Kissing Bridge most recently from Telluride Ski & Golf in Colorado, where he served as Director of Risk Management, supporting more than 1,500 employees across mountain operations, hospitality, retail, hotel, and golf divisions. In that role, he led the implementation of comprehensive safety programs, managed insurance and claims, introduced new operational technologies, and modernized emergency and safety plans to meet evolving regulatory standards.
Previously, Thomas served as Vice President and General Manager of Roundtop Mountain Resort in Pennsylvania, overseeing a year-round operation that included skiing, snowboarding, tubing, summer attractions, camps, and events. During his tenure, he led major capital improvement projects, launched new revenue-generating events, and expanded summer operations to support long-term growth and sustainability.
“I grew up in the ski industry, starting in rentals and learning what it takes to keep a resort running from the ground up,” said Thomas. “Kissing Bridge reminds me of the places that made me fall in love with skiing - community-focused, family-oriented, and powered by passionate employees. I’m honored to join the team and lead such a special resort into its next chapter.”
This appointment also reflects a deeper strategic alignment between Thomas’s extensive experience in risk management and resort operations and Kissing Bridge’s vision to modernize how safety and performance are approached across the ski industry. Through this symbiosis of thinking, Thomas will spearhead a strategic joint venture to develop and launch a new risk analysis technology designed to upend aging operational processes and unlock scalable growth in a sector traditionally constrained by the physical real estate it occupies. Set for public release in the 2026/27 ski season, the platform aims to help resorts better anticipate risk, improve decision-making, and enhance guest and employee safety, positioning Kissing Bridge not only as an all-seasons destination, but as an innovation leader within mountain operations.
Known throughout the industry as a hands-on, people-first leader, Thomas has presented at National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) trade shows on employee safety, incident investigation, and the use of technology to improve resort operations. His leadership philosophy centers on empowering frontline teams, building strong safety cultures, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Thomas will be relocating to the area with his wife and three children and looks forward to becoming an active member of the local community while leading Kissing Bridge All Seasons Resort into its next era of growth.
