Southern Tier Restaurant Week Part II Returns to Olean with Special Menus, Local Dining Deals & StrOlean Festival

Southern Tier Restaurant Week Part II Returns to Olean with Special Menus, Local Dining Deals & StrOlean Festival

More than 20 local restaurants offer exclusive dishes Aug. 7-15 before StrOlean Festival brings live music, vendors, food trucks, family activities, and downtown fun on Aug. 15.

OLEAN - The Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce (GOACC) is thrilled to bring back Southern Tier Restaurant Week for Part II, starting August 7 until August 15! Over twenty restaurants in the area will be offering a specialty item or a specialty menu exclusive to Restaurant Week. This gives our local restaurants a chance to try out a new creation, highlight a favorite, promote their businesses, and welcome new (and hopefully returning!) customers.

It's simple. The GOACC has collected all the items and menus and made the perfect guidebook, available for FREE at the GOACC Gift Shop, located at 301 N. Union St. in Olean, beginning Thursday, August 6. The guidebook will also be available online at www.OleanNY.com/RestaurantWeek later this week.

As a completely optional incentive to visit multiple spots, each time you visit a participating restaurant and order a special Restaurant Week item, you’re encouraged to snap a picture, upload it to Facebook and tag the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce. Make sure to caption it with the hashtag #STRestaurantWeekPartII. Again, this is completely optional!

The owner of each hash-tagged photo will be entered into our drawing for a Shop the Southern Tier Gift Card. Visit as many restaurants as many times as you’d like; just make sure you snap those pics! Those who wish to enter the drawing, but not electronically, can collect their receipts and bring them into the GOACC office no later than August 20 to have their names entered into the drawing. We look forward to seeing you document your week and visit all your favorite spots!

Southern Tier Restaurant Week Part II runs straight into the area’s largest downtown festival, StrOlean. From 11:00am-5:00pm on Saturday, August 15, join the GOACC as we bring live music, vendors, food trucks, kids fun, and more to our Historic Downtown! Learn more at oleanny.com. The all-day downtown festival, complete with music, drinks, food, vendors, activities, and more, presented by Mallery’s Auto Body & Collision. Over 100 arts and craft vendors as well as local nonprofits and organizations will line the streets, complete with a food and dining area. So far, GOACC Member food trucks, Walsh’s Waffles, Red Horse Grill, 3 C’s Catering, and The Pig-Out Place will be joining us. Adults will be able to purchase alcoholic beverages, with proper identification, under the Drink Tent, sponsored by Sol Epoxy.

Stay tuned for a full line-up of performances and demonstrations. Armstrong is sponsoring music with favorite local bands like Generations and Miss Hoshi’s Trio! The Children’s Activities Zone, sponsored by Fox Financial, will be huge this year, complete with three bounce houses, free face paintings, snacks, school supply giveaways, crafts with SerenHippity and the Pfeiffer Nature Center, and more. Mallery’s Auto Body & Collision is sponsoring train rides as well as horseback rides with The Little Red Barn Farm LLC’s beautiful Clydesdale horses!

This is a day you don’t want to miss. Bring your family, your friends, bring EVERYONE to the Greater Olean Area’s largest downtown festival for a full day of fun. We’ll see you there!
