Southern Tier Restaurant Week Returns with 28 Eateries and Leads Into StrOlean Festival Fun

Restaurant Week Brings Record Participation, Tasty Specials, and Prize Giveaways. Followed by Olean’s Biggest Downtown Bash: StrOlean

The Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to bring back Southern Tier Restaurant Week for Part II, starting August 8th until August 16th. Select restaurants in the area will be offering a specialty item or a specialty menu exclusive to Restaurant Week. This gives our local restaurants a chance to try out a new creation, highlight a favorite, promote their businesses, and welcome new (and hopefully returning!) customers.

It's simple. GOACC will collect and compile all the items and menus into a booklet that will give you the perfect guide to all the spots and specials. The booklet will be available online at www.OleanNY.com/RestaurantWeek or in print to pick up at the GOACC Gift Shop, located at 301 North Union St. in Olean, which started Wednesday, August 6th.

We have TWENTY-EIGHT participating members this time around, a new record for participation since its revival last year. Restaurants you can find in the guidebook include: 3rd Base Bar & Grill, A&J’s Subs, The Baking Witch, Beef N’ Barrel, Big Bossmans BBQ, The Century Manor, Fairway View Pavilion, Fatties Creamery & Grill, Friendly’s, Grand Slam Grill, Green Acres Café, The Hatch Café, Hi-Ho Drive In, Hometown Bar & Grill, Mangia 2.0, Napoli, On The Side Sub Shop, Pizzaland, Randy’s Fireside, Randy’s Up The River, RocketCup Coffee Company, Sprague’s Maple Farms, Talty’s, Tasta Pizza, Twist & Shake, Union Whiskey, The Wing Bar & Grill, and Zet’s Italian Ice.

As a completely optional incentive to visit multiple spots, each time you visit a participating restaurant and order a special Restaurant Week item, you’re encouraged to snap a picture, upload it to Facebook and tag the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce. Make sure to caption it with the hashtag #GOACCRestaurantWeek. Again, this is completely optional!

The owner of each hashtagged photo will be entered into our drawing for a GOACC gift certificate. Visit as many restaurants as many times as you’d like, just make sure you snap those pics! Those who wish to enter the drawing, but not electronically, can collect their receipts and bring them into the GOACC office, no later than August 20th, to have their names entered into the drawing. We look forward to seeing you document your week and visit all your favorite spots!

Southern Tier Restaurant Week Part II runs straight into StrOlean, the region’s largest downtown festival! On Saturday, August 16th from 10:00am. to 6:00pm, the 100 block of North Union Street will be blocked off to traffic and transformed into a downtown party.

Just like last year, vendors will be lining the streets. Browse and shop for anything from soaps and lotions to home décor and crafts, to stunning artwork and gorgeous jewelry. A full map of vendors will be available online and to pick up the day of the event, thanks to our Map Sponsors, Armstrong Inc., and InfoSecurity Blueprint.

This event is for every member of the family! Check out our new Children’s Activities Tent - get your face painted, compete in the bounce house obstacle course sponsored by Christ United Methodist Church, and go for a pony ride with Mountain Rose Farm! Pre-sale tickets for Pony Rides will be sold in the GOACC Gift Shop for $5 - keep checking our socials for when they’ll be available. SerenHippity and Pfeiffer Nature Center will be on-site offering free crafts for the kiddos, and Little Miracles Daycare will be there to discuss her childcare services. All children’s activities, other than the Pony Rides, are FREE, starting at 10:00am.

And parents - we have fun for you, too. Starting at 12:00pm., stop by the Drink Tent, sponsored by SolEpoxy, Don’t forget to grab your wristbands, sponsored by the Golden Oak Group at Morgan Stanley and browse selections from Bee Spit Meadery and Try-It Distributing. Enjoy live music from Generations and Those Guys, thanks to Entertainment Sponsor and New GOACC Member, Pursuit.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a party without the food to go with it. Our member food trucks, including ZET’s Italian Ice, Sweet Ride, Big Bossmans BBQ, 3 C’s Catering, Red Horse Grill, Wanderer Hut, and Yakisobas, will be in attendance. Make sure to visit newcomers Avenue 29 Foods, and The Boba Life.

Stay tuned for more details and fun activities as the event gets closer. StrOlean is for the whole family - come have some fun in Downtown Olean!
