Springville Center for the Arts Hosts Free Open Studio Night at The Lab

Explore artist workspaces, make your own moss art, and enjoy creative experiences during the July 25 Studio Open House at The Lab in Springville.

SPRINGVILLE - On Friday, July 25th you have a chance to explore The Lab. There will be complimentary refreshments, touring of the artists’ work spaces, shopping, mingling, and interactive art activities.

As part of The Lab’s Open Studios, Wonder Moss will unveil its brand-new “Moss Bar”, a hands-on, interactive experience where guests can create their own moss art using natural elements of their choice. Visitors can try it out for free during the event and take home a small sample piece. Full-sized workshops will also be offered, with upcoming dates and sign-up opportunities available at the event.

Guests are welcome to contribute to Nexus Botanical Arts Community Fiber Arts project by making cyanotype fabric squares. Eventually, the squares will be sewn together to make a wall tapestry to be displayed at The Lab. In addition to fiber arts, Mystic Pots will have a pottery station for visitors to create their own tiny figures out of wild clay. Local treasures from Lake Erie will be provided by Kikis Kreations to shop and create a communal beach glass window. There will be tiny abstract block paintings provided by artist Caroline North, decorated with the theme of translating feelings into colors.

Lastly, to capture and encapsulate the evening, Liv Louise Photography will hold 5-minute mini-portrait sessions throughout the open house. Photos will be accessible through a printed or digital copy.

Springville Center for the Arts is holding an Artist Open House at The Lab, located at 67 E Main St., Springville from 6:00-8:00pm. This event is free and does not require a ticket to enter. For more information, visit SpringvilleArts.org or call 716-592-9038.
