Audition for ‘Lumberjacks in Love’ at Springville Center for the Arts This July
SCA seeks performers for the hilarious musical Lumberjacks in Love, with auditions scheduled July 21 and 23 in Springville.
SPRINGVILLE - Springville Center for the Arts (SCA) presents the musical comedy Lumberjacks in Love to be performed this November 13th-16th and 20th-23rd. Auditions will be held on Monday, July 21st and Wednesday, July 23rd from 6-8pm in the SCA Vacanti Classroom.
Lumberjacks in Love is a story of four burly lumberjacks who live in a state of manly bliss at the Haywire Lumber Camp in Northern Wisconsin - until an encounter with a plucky mail order bride interrupts life as they know it. The show’s accompaniment is typically performed by the lead actors, ending in a lot of laughs and surprises. The story is written by James Kaplan and Fred Alley, originally presented by Northern Sky Theater in 1996.
Lumberjacks will be directed by Ed Heary, who has been involved with local theater for nearly fifty years. Actors desirable for this production would possess the ability to sing, dance, act, and perform in comedic situations. Musicians with limited acting experience are also welcome. Auditionees should prepare a 32 measure cut of a theatrical song with either sheet music, a back track, or their own instrument to accompany them. Monologues are optional and actors can expect to do a cold read from the musical. Musicians with the capability to play banjo, washboard, standing bass, guitar, violin, or mandolin are highly encouraged to attend.
Lumberjacks in Love auditions are on Monday, July 21st and Wednesday, July 23rd from 6:00-8:00pm at 37 N Buffalo St., Springville in the Vacanti Classroom. This audition is by drop-in only with no previous sign-up required. For more information visit SpringvilleArts.org or call 716-592-9038.
