Chamber and Labatt team up for charity golf tournament at Holiday Valley
ELLICOTTVILLE - Get ready to hit the links for something bigger than birdies and bogeys. The Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce, in proud partnership with Labatt, invites you to the 2nd Annual Par For a Purpose charity golf tournament on Monday, May 19th at the picturesque Holiday Valley Resort. This year’s tournament supports a mission that’s close to many hearts - raising funds for the 11 Day Power Play Foundation, a Buffalo-based nonprofit committed to the fight against cancer.
The 11 Day Power Play began in Buffalo in 2017 as a bold idea from co-founders Mike and Amy Lesakowski, who were both personally impacted by cancer. What started as a record-setting, 11-day-long hockey game has since grown into a dynamic, year-round movement that has raised over $10 million for cancer research and patient care. Now, the foundation is expanding its impact through golf - and that’s where you come in.
“We’re incredibly proud to partner with the 11 Day Power Play Foundation for this year’s Par For a Purpose,” said Barb Pump, Executive Director of the Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce. “Their mission resonates deeply with our community, and through this event, we’re able to bring people together not just for a great day of golf, but to support families and individuals impacted by cancer. It’s about turning our shared love of the game into something truly meaningful.”
This year’s Par For a Purpose promises more than just great golf. It’s a chance to come together as a community, honor those who have battled cancer, and contribute to life-changing initiatives. Whether you’re a scratch golfer or just swinging for fun, everyone is welcome to participate in this day of camaraderie, cause, and competition.
“Funds raised through events like this go directly toward supporting vital programs and services at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, Oishei Childrens Hospital, Camp Good Days, and Make-A-Wish WNY,” said Pump. “It’s about making a real difference in the lives of families facing cancer.”
The tournament is limited to the first 144 registered players and will take place rain or shine, with a 1:00pm shotgun start. The $180 entry fee includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, lunch, dinner, two drink tickets, and a chance to win some amazing prizes.
