**Benny Bleu Brings Traditional Bluegrass to Art’s Cafe October 10**

Finger Lakes banjo player and singer-songwriter Benny Bleu returns to Art’s Cafe with a quartet celebrating the traditions of bluegrass and the stories that continue to shape the genre.

SPRINGVILLE - Benny Bleu Haravitch has been a favorite on the Art’s Cafe stage, appearing both solo at Folk Night and with the bluegrass group, The Brother’s Blue. He will return to Art’s Cafe on October 10 in a quartet configuration that embodies traditional bluegrass while highlighting the clever songwriting audiences have come to know and love. This performance is presented by Springville Center for the Arts.

“A geologist by trade, banjo player and singer-songwriter,” Benny Bleu creates music that explores humanity’s connection “with the natural world and each other” (Putumayo World Music). Based in the Finger Lakes of upstate New York, Benny draws inspiration from a landscape defined by deep lake valleys and steep highlands. He has studied and performed with old-time visionaries including Mac Benford, Richie Stearns, Judy Hyman, and Bruce Molsky, carrying forward the bluegrass tradition as a living and evolving community experience.

His recordings are known for balancing “thoughtful lyricism with expressive instrumental work, inviting listeners to slow down and engage” (Putumayo World Music). In June 2024, Benny’s album, Banjo Meditations was featured in Bandcamp Daily’s Best Country Music while his twin album, Banjo Jubilations reached #2 Artist and #5 Album on the FAI Folk Radio Chart.
