Celebrate “Just Do It” Day with a Night Bike Ride at Allegany State Park
Park educators invite the public to take action on their goals with a guided winter bike ride and potluck at Camp Allegany.
SALAMANCA - January is a great time to get things done. In 2015, National Just Do It Day was created to encourage people to take action and finally do the things they have always wanted to do. It’s a day to work on goals, dreams, and procrastinated projects. Maybe the goal is to ride a bike for one thousand days, send a message to a friend, re-pot overgrown plants, learn to play a harmonica, or recycle all the cardboard boxes from the holidays. Big or small actions are all worthwhile, prompting a feeling of achievement and overall satisfaction.
Maybe you have always dreamed of riding a bike in the winter with a light. If so, we have an event for you! On Saturday, January 24th, join park educators for a fun bike ride around the Red House area of Allegany State Park. The ride starts at Camp Allegany at 6:30pm with a potluck social to follow in the Rec Hall. Bring a bike, head lamp or bike lights, and a helmet. We would also like to hear your goals or intentions for 2026. Accountability is a great way to stay on track with intentions and goals.
