Community Support Powers Record-Breaking Cattaraugus Gives 2025, Raising Over $360,000
Giving day sets new benchmarks for dollars raised, donors, and nonprofit participation.
OLEAN - Cattaraugus Gives set a new standard for community generosity, breaking all previous records for dollars raised, number of donors, and nonprofits receiving support. Fueled by the event’s largest-ever prize pool and site-wide matches, this year’s giving day proved to be the most impactful in its history.
During the 24-hour online fundraising event, presented by the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation, participating nonprofits collectively raised $359,898 which has since risen to $364,388 through continued donations. Additionally, a record number of organizations received at least one donation.
With this year’s total, nonprofits in Cattaraugus County have now raised $2.06 million through the giving day since its inception in 2017.
“This year showed, once again, how powerful our community can be when we come together,” said Tyler Veno, Cattaraugus Gives Coordinator. “The incredible support we saw - from nonprofits mobilizing their networks to donors stepping up throughout the day - made this our most prosperous Cattaraugus Gives yet.”
A major driver of this year’s success was the record-breaking prize pool of over $29,000 which offered more opportunities than ever for nonprofits to earn bonus dollars through matches, challenges, and timed competitions. The expanded prize pool spurred friendly competition and helped elevate visibility of the event across the county.
Cattaraugus Gives is hosted annually by the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation as a way to strengthen local nonprofits and inspire philanthropy through the collective impact of giving. Since its inception, the event has grown dramatically, becoming one of the region’s most anticipated days of charitable action.
“We are grateful for every donor, sponsor, partner, and participating organization that helped make this year such a tremendous success,” said Veno. “Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected Cattaraugus County.”
Nonprofit organizations received $30,000 in prizes and sponsored matches this year. The prize winners are listed at cattaraugusgives.org/prizes. Ten organizations this year raised over $10,000 during the day. Three raised over $20,000. Sixty-four organizations raised $1,000 or more during the day - that is also a record, said Veno.
“Cattaraugus Gives is a date we mark on our calendars each year, and it’s a program we have been so proud to present for years,” said CRCF Executive Director Kirk Windus. “Most importantly, Cattaraugus Gives equips our nonprofits with the resources that they need to serve those in need in our community. $360,000 is a remarkable total of fundraising, but the true impact is something that you can’t put a price tag on.”
