December Astrology Outlook: Gemini Full Moon, Spiritual Awakening & A New Era of Consciousness

Did you feel the mood lighten up over the past week? The sun left the “still waters run deep” sign of Scorpio and is now in the celebratory, good-humored, glass-clinking sign of Sagittarius.

Gemini Full Moon: Big Feels & Big Revelations

We begin December with a significant full moon in Gemini. All full moons bring out the “big feels” - the moon is our emotional body. Being in the curious, witty, fact-gathering sign of Gemini opposing the sun in big, jolly storytelling Sagittarius, this can really bring things to light such as heckling, nit-picking, taking a jab at someone, and then a more mature part of the collective saying, “that’s not funny.”

Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury, who by this time will no longer be retrograde but moving direct in its shadow still in Scorpio. We may see headlines around victim-blaming and shaming in sex scandals or sex crimes, and a pushback on listening rather than jumping on a bandwagon of ignorance. This already feels true with the published accounts by the late Virginia Giuffre.

On a personal level, this can bring to mind times we may have been picked on, or picked on others, and we are now more mature, realizing we are all important, we all matter, and we all have our own story to tell. We have a right to our voice, our own stage, and our right to tell our story.

Gemini and Sagittarius represent the information axis - writing, books, publishing, marketing, and the media. What’s important is knowing the information we seek is available; it’s out there, but it is up to us to read between the lines as the truth can be presented in an exaggerated manner, or skewed, or bellowing from the hilltops to influence the masses. It’s really important to sift through information and decipher what is truth, where is the information skewed, what feels right?

The Nodes: Collective Turning Points

This full moon is powerfully conflicted by the sun and moon squaring the moon’s nodes, which represent the collective - what it needs to shed to embrace higher purpose and growth, to stretch and reach for higher truths.

The south node is giving us a scouring cleanse in Virgo, speaking to topics like day-to-day living, our health, our job, the health industry and healthcare workers. This energy is asking us to release old habits, especially lifestyles that prompt anxiety. We must learn how to be flexible and adapt during these changing times, while finding ways to calm and soothe our nervous systems. For example, too many notifications on our devices destroy our sense of peace and any ability to focus and concentrate.

The north node is asking us to go higher, to call in our guides, or the spiritual understanding we practice. You are a spiritual being having a temporary human experience. When you learn how to connect on a spiritual level and then bring that actual light down into your physical vessel, that is when pure magic happens - that is called enlightenment. When one is enlightened, they can change matter, align to higher truths, and manifest a life with far more ease. Who wouldn’t want that!?

In the sign of Pisces until next summer, this is asking the collective to study releasing old escapism tendencies, put down the drink, the excessive game paying, gambling, or whatever we do to escape our reality. Stop running, stop chasing emptiness. Decide what truly matters, what you want to achieve in your life, and why it’s not in motion now. This full moon squaring the nodes will bring fated external events to truly make you question everything - from who seems to be in charge to 3i Atlas and all the global anomalies happening at the same time, with all the rebellions from the people, demanding equality, their voices heard and justice served.

Pisces at its highest expression is kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and very healing. It is silence, but bright. It is prayers, meditation, sacred. At it’s lowest is ignorance, disillusionment, pulling the wool over another’s eyes, deception and the smoke and mirrors, altered states such as being under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or hypnosis.

A New Era: Awakening the Inner Light

Let all spells break, let us all realize we are here as one people all wanting the same thing: representation and peace. We want love, unity, oneness. We don’t want to be separated, humiliated and laughed at. We want to be heard, witnessed, and understood.

It will be interesting to see what the headlines reflect - but now you know how the stage will be set. Let’s see how it plays out. Astrology never lies.

Heart Chakra: A Moment of Gratitude

Take this time to put your hand on your heart and feel your heart beating. Give thanks for that. Thank your heart, for keeping time, for beating for you, ever since you were in utero. Honor your heart - your passion, what really makes you feel alive. Notice your breath, and breathe slowly, deeply and fully. Look up to the night sky and the stars and say thank you to the universe. Your soul chose to be here, during this time, the crux of global change, the egg is cracking and a new earth is “rising.”

This is seriously a demarcation of a new era. Honor yourself. Know you are not alone, not forgotten about. There is a greater force, a higher power, and you have that energy, living within you, as part of you, a higher level of consciousness co-existing within you, waiting for you to turn on that spigot and drink from. The magical elixir of pure consciousness, pure light, pure love, pure photon energy that created this universe also created you!

Moving Forward: Joy, Integrity & Balance

This is reason to celebrate, to practice joy, to hold close your personal freedoms and to honor the direction your soul wants you to go in. Do all things with love, whole-heartedly. Stay in personal integrity and walk forward with joy in your heart.
