Ellicottville Distillery Hosts Car Show & Golf Tournament to Support Oishei Children’s Hospital

From classic cars and live music to 18 holes of golf, Ellicottville Distillery invites the community to join in two exciting fundraisers this September, all in support of Oishei Children’s Hospital.

As summer winds down and kids go back to school, local business Ellicottville Distillery is picking up the pace with two upcoming events, both benefiting Oishei Children’s Hospital of Buffalo.

The end-of-season kickoff begins with a Motorcycle & Car Show on Saturday, September 6th from 10:00am-4:00pm. Then on Friday, September 26th, the distillery will hold its fifth annual golf tournament at Elkdale Country Club in Salamanca with a 9:00am registration and 10:00am tee-off time. EllicottvilleNOW caught up with Renee Scharf, who works in partnership with her husband Bryan, on programming for the distillery.

“The car and bike show on September 6th will have music by Noah Koningisorm” said Renee. "We’ll also have a food truck, and we’re going to have an ice cream truck here as well. Then we have our golf tournament on the 26th at Elkdale. We tee off at 10:00am and then come back to the distillery for a chicken and rib dinner,” she said. “We’ll have baskets to raffle off and live music as well.”

Both events benefit Oishei Children’s Hospital, which Scharf and her family have an immediate connection to. “Our middle daughter was twelve-and-a-half weeks early, so we were there for 72 days,” she recalled. “That was our second home for a while.”

Renee added that any event that the distillery raises money for benefits Oishei, explaining that they do about three fundraising events per year. In terms of numbers for both the car show and the annual golf tournament, Renee expects both events to bring a lot of people. “The car show that we did at the beginning of summer had 80 cars, so we hope it will get bigger and bigger,” she said. To put the word out, the couple has been advertising with flyers, via social media, and to the distillery’s patrons. Renee said to expect classic and antique cars and motorcycles.

Ellicottville Distillery is located at at 5462 Robbins Road, just a few miles east of downtown Ellicottville. Registration for the Motorcycle & Car Show will take place on the day of the event starting at 10:00am and goes until noon. The fee is $15 per car or bike. Food will be provided by Raught’s Roadside Kitchen food truck and Papa Scoops Ice Cream. Noah Koningisor will perform on guitar and vocals from 3:00-6:00pm. A 50/50 raffle will also be held.

Ellicottville Distillery’s Annual Golf Tournament will take place at Elkdale Country Club, 4676 Route 353 in Salamanca. Play 18 holes as an individual or part of a team. Registration is $125 per person or $500 per team. Foursomes can also be arranged at registration. Cocktails and a chicken dinner and reception will follow at Ellicottville Distillery, with live music from 3:00-6:00pm. To register, call 716-801-0086 or 716-597-6121.

Last but not least, Renee said to come check out the final performance of their summer music series this Sunday, August 31st with the Chillbilly’s taking the stage at 2:00pm. For additional information on any events, check out Ellicottville Distillery’s website, social media pages, or message the distillery directly.
