Ellicottville Historical Society Announces Fall Ghost Walks
The Ellicottville Historical Society welcomes Melissa Parker Leonard for an October 7 program on Ely S. Parker and brings its popular Ghost Walks back for five evenings this fall.
ELLICOTTVILLE - The Ellicottville Historical Society’s next meeting will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 7:00pm at the Ellicottville Memorial Library, 6499 Maples Road. Guest speaker Melissa Parker Leonard will present a program on Ely S. Parker. Come here about his time in Ellicottville and show a warm welcome to Melissa. The meeting is free and open to the public.
Ghost Walks Return for Fall: The Ellicottville Historical Society is bringing back its Ghost Walks for another season, offering an evening filled with stories of murder, mayhem, and some of the darker chapters of Ellicottville’s past. Walks are scheduled for Friday, September 25; October 2; October 16; Thursday, October 22; and Friday, October 30. Each Ghost Walk begins at 7:30pm at the Gazebo in front of Ellicottville Town Hall. From there, participants will make their way through the village, stopping at the United Church and Jefferson Street Cemetery, before ending at the Ellicottville Historical Museum.
The tour lasts approximately two hours, and participants are encouraged to bring a flashlight or use the flashlight on their phone, as portions of the tour - particularly the cemetery - can be quite dark.
