Ellicottville Memorial Library Welcomes Fall with Programs and Book Sale

Annual book sale, returning programs, a farm market and resources for students highlight the library’s fall lineup

ELLICOTTVILLE - The Ellicottville Memorial Library is welcoming fall with returning programs, a two-day book sale, and several activities for visitors of all ages. The library’s annual Book Sale will be held Friday, Sept. 11 and Saturday, Sept. 12 from 10:00am-5:00pm. Shoppers will find donated books, puzzles, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs, with all proceeds benefiting the library. Those unable to attend the opening weekend will have plenty of time to browse, as the sale will continue during regular library hours through Saturday, Oct. 3.

Crafts with Cathy have also returned on Tuesdays from 2:00-3:00pm. Participants are invited to join Cathy each week to create a new piece of art.

Young children and their caregivers can enjoy Story Time with Dr. Kate every Wednesday at 9:30am. Sponsored through a grant from the Bob McCarthy Foundation, each session includes stories, a sing-along, and crafts centered around a weekly theme. Upcoming themes include Crayons on Sept. 16, Shapes on Sept. 23, and Feelings on Sept. 30.

The FeedMore WNY Farm Market will visit the library on Saturdays, Sept. 12 and Sept. 26 from 10:00-11:00am. The market is open to the public and offers fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, with all items priced under $5. Cash, debit and credit cards, tap-to-pay and SNAP/EBT are accepted. SNAP/EBT customers receive 50% off their purchases.

As students settle into a new school year, the library also offers private study spaces, free Wi-Fi, laptops, study materials, and $1 coffee. Patrons searching for a title that is not available locally can request materials through the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System’s delivery service, which provides access to collections at 38 member libraries.
