OLEAN - United Way of Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties (UWCAC) has awarded Total Senior Care $712.50 through the 2025 Bill and Cathy Fraser Grant program to enhance creative programming for older adults in its DayBreak Adult Day Health program.
Total Senior Care is a PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) organization that serves adults 55 and older across Cattaraugus, Allegany, and Chautauqua counties. The grant funds will be used to purchase creative tools, including a sewing machine, a Cricut cutting machine, and a 3D printer, along with starter supplies. These tools will be used in group and individual activities designed to foster creativity, improve cognitive engagement, and promote social connection among program participants.
“Through the addition of these tools, our participants will have new opportunities to learn, create, and collaborate,” said Carmen Wright, activities coordinator at Total Senior Care. “This grant allows us to introduce innovative and meaningful activities that strengthen social engagement and enhance quality of life.”
United Way of Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties announced a total of $9,219 in funding through the Fraser Grants this year to support local organizations that meet essential needs and improve quality of life in the community. The Fraser Grants were established in 2020 to honor the memory of longtime United Way supporters Bill and Cathy Fraser.
“These grants carry on Bill and Cathy Fraser’s legacy of service by supporting programs that reach those in greatest need across our region,” said Sue McAuley, executive director of UWCAC. “We’re proud to help organizations like Total Senior Care expand opportunities that promote connection, creativity, and well-being for older adults.”
Bill Fraser served for many years on the United Way’s Board of Directors and Allocations Committee, while Cathy Fraser was a valued member of the United Way staff. The memorial grant program ensures their legacy of compassion continues through community-focused support.
