Uppenovr Uphill/Downhill Event Returns to Holiday Valley and HoliMont March 21

The 3rd annual Uppenovr is scheduled for Saturday, March 21st. The Uppenovr is a fun spring activity that captures the popularity of uphill travel, involves both Holiday Valley and HoliMont and raises money for Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Everyone is encouraged to enter the event (or just come for the party) on Saturday, March 21st. Advanced registration is $40 and you can sign up and find out details at www.holidayvalley.com/event/uppenovr-2026. To participate, you can use anything that goes on your feet like touring skis, a splitboard, cross country skis, snowshoes, hiking boots or sneakers, and don’t forget your smile… and a costume wouldn’t hurt! You can take it seriously and go for the fastest male or female award or make it social and just enjoy the journey with your friends. The start is at 3:00pm at the Yodeler Lodge and the route heads up to Spruce Lake, across to HoliMont, down Sunset slope, then back up to Spruce Lake, across and back down to Yodeler Lodge. The total distance is about 3.5 miles with an elevation gain of 1,040 feet. Recharge along the way with a hydration stop (does a Fireball shotski count as hydration?) at Spruce Lake with music and beautiful scenery. Sounds like fun, eh?

Back at Yodeler Lodge, participants will be treated to a hot dog, a beer or N/A beverage, live music with PA Line, prizes and awards, and a unique basket raffle and silent auction. Spectators are welcome and beverages will available for purchase.

So far there are two special packages headlining the auction: a winter evening wine tasting and a snowshoe tour at the top of the mountain, and a summer pool party with cocktails and barbecue. Many other items will be available in the basket raffle, thanks to the generous donations from our local merchants and supporters. You can start bidding and entering the basket raffle at 2:00pm. The Uppenovr is a fundraiser for the Team Holiday Valley cyclists who will ride 550 miles across New York State this summer to benefit Roswell Park’s cancer research and clinical trials programs.
