It’s official: this summer, the fairgrounds in Little Valley will come alive for the Cattaraugus County Fair from Aug. 1st-8th!

Soon, school districts in the Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES (CA BOCES) region will see world-class animations gracing their hallways, school buses, gyms, and theaters.

Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce began sending out its 56-page dual publication in February. The one side is the GOACC Membership Directory; the other side is a Visitors Guide.

The Wolfinger Family Fund at the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation is making possible $2,000 in support for the Ellicottville, Smethport (PA) and Coudersport (PA) school districts.

On St. Patrick’s Day, CCA is hosting their annual soup fundraiser at their Jefferson Street building. All proceeds will benefit CCA’s kitchen by helping the agency make much-needed repairs to the freezers, refrigerators, dishwashers and more. 

We did it again! We raised $1,000 for Empire Animal Rescue (EARS) through the sale of Willow's 2021 calendars! 

The first StrOlean was a huge success with more than 70 organizations uptown selling or organizing an event.  The Chamber’s Events Committee recently met and have decided to host three StrOleans in 2021: Fridays, June 4th, August 13th and October 1st.

Twelve nonprofits, both local and national, recently received grant support from the Doris Reisner Endowment Fund and the Mike and Laura Bysiek Memorial Fund at the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation.

Despite Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction of a longer winter, warm weather is certainly on the horizon! For many, that means a new season of fresh greens from local producers or even one’s own garden.

It’s been a tough “Go” with the pandemic, but the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce was able to host seven of their 2020 events, keeping the spirit of community and business alive during unprecedented times.

As our winter weather turns to some of the coldest temperatures of the season, many who have fireplaces drop a match to let it roar. It is a seasonal act of faith.
