Allegany Student Raises $310 for Hospice Hope Walk, Making a Big Impact

Aliyah Connor’s determination at the Hospice Hope Walk raised vital funds for local hospice services, showing how one step can make a big difference.

ALLEGANY, NY — One step at a time, Aliyah Connor walked with purpose during this year’s Hospice Hope Walk, Bike & Run—and made a powerful impact. The Allegany-Limestone Central School student raised $310 in pledges, making up one-sixth of the total $1,800 pledged that day to support the HomeCare & Hospice Foundation.

“I chose to participate in the event because I wanted to help local families,” said Aliyah. “I support hospice because I think it’s very important and more people should join in and support them!”

By simply reaching out to her family and friends, Aliyah collected donations with ease and determination.

Melissa Sullivan, President & CEO of HomeCare & Hospice, praised Aliyah’s efforts: “Aliyah’s dedication is inspiring. Her actions speak volumes about the heart of our younger generation and the role they can play in supporting hospice care. She has made a real difference in the lives of others.”

Proceeds from the Hospice Hope event help fund hospice services and support families throughout Allegany, Cattaraugus, Genesee, and Wyoming Counties.

Mark your calendars—next year’s Hospice Hope Walk, Bike & Run will take place on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. For more information, call 716-372-2106 or email snegron@homecare-hospice.org.
