Ellicottville Historical Society Announces New Museum Features and Programs for 2025
ELLICOTTVILLE - The Ellicottville Historical Society and Museum has many exciting things happening this year! A brand new display highlighting skiing is ready for visitors to view. An old desk donated by Fitzpatrick & Weller has also found its new home within the museum’s walls.
The museum will open in May (earlier than most years). If you love history and meeting new people, perhaps you would like to take a few hours on a Saturday or Sunday to volunteer at the museum. The Ellicottville Historical Society is also excited to announce its 2025 programs. All meetings/programs are open to the public, free of charge, and held the on the first Wednesday of each month (May-October) at 7:00pm at the Ellicottville Memorial Library, 6944 Maples Road. A brief business meeting takes place prior to the presenter. This year’s meetings and presenters are scheduled as follows:
May 7th: Lance White Eagle on “The History of Indigenous Leaders”
June 4th: Vince from Chautauqua County Curiosities
July 2nd: Ellen Frank on “Revisit to Battle of Lexington and Concord - The Battles that started the American Revolution”
August 6th: Don Dwyer on “Songs and Stories of the Erie Canal”
September 3rd: Amanda Woomer from Spook Eats
October 1st: Marina Blair from Illusion Tours
Take a walk with us! The Ellicottville Historical Society offers Walking Tours around town on the following Saturdays: May 31st, June 21st, July 5th and August 16th. All are welcome and should meet at the Village Gazebo located in downtown Ellicottville at 1:00pm. See and hear stories of the founding fathers of Ellicottville on this guided walking tour which runs approximately 1.5-2 hours. Cost is $10 per person which can be paid by cash or check upon arrival.
