HomeCare & Hospice and Total Senior Care Honor Employees for Years of Service

Four staff members from HomeCare & Hospice and Total Senior Care were honored for their milestone anniversaries, reflecting years of dedication to patient care.

ALLEGANY - HomeCare & Hospice and Total Senior Care recently recognized four dedicated team members for their years of service, honoring their commitment to compassionate care and support. Melissa Bunk was celebrated for reaching 10 years with HomeCare & Hospice, while Lisa Gordon, Hanna Nunn, and Julienn Newton each marked 5 years of service with their respective organizations.

Total Senior Care (TSC) is a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), offering a comprehensive, managed long-term care plan to adults 55 and older who wish to remain living safely at home. HomeCare & Hospice provides both licensed home care and hospice services, helping patients with chronic conditions or terminal illness receive the care and support they need in their homes.

Melissa Bunk was honored for reaching an impressive 10-year milestone with HomeCare & Hospice - the longest tenure in this grouping. As a Home Health Aide, Melissa has been a steady, compassionate presence in the lives of patients and families. Her quiet dedication and caring nature have made her a trusted support to those she serves and a valued member of the care team.

Lisa Gordon, now a Home Care Coordinator at Total Senior Care, transitioned to her current role in April 2024 after previously serving as the Senior RN Care Coordinator at HomeCare & Hospice, overseeing both the Wellsville and Allegany offices in a management capacity. Reflecting on her career path, Lisa shared, “I have been very blessed to work for both organizations, in differing capacities, and I have enjoyed both roles.  I have learned a lot and been able to pass on a lot of that knowledge to others.”  She credits the people—coworkers and clients alike—as the highlight of her years in both organizations. “It takes time to learn the job but hang in there and don’t be afraid to ask for help,” she advises. Lisa especially valued her hospice experience, “helping people on their final journey,” and now enjoys working with participants who are still active and living life at home.

Hanna Nunn, a Licensed Master Social Worker with HomeCare & Hospice, provides emotional and practical support to hospice patients and their families across Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties. “You build emotional bonds that often continue well beyond a patient’s passing,” she shared. “I recently reconnected with the wife of a former patient who just wanted to say thank you. That kind of connection really stays with you.” Hannah lives in Bradford with her husband, Paul, and their two dogs.

Julienn Newton, a Home Health Aide with HomeCare & Hospice, celebrated five years of service and reflected on her growth during that time. “I have grown so much the last five years working at HomeCare & Hospice. It has pushed me to interact with all different kinds of people. Being able to connect with patients and make their day a little bit easier is the best, most rewarding part.” She describes her experience as a “fulfillment of heart” and takes pride in giving her best to every patient, whether in home care or hospice. Julienn lives in Cattaraugus with her husband, Nate, and their lively family of four dogs, two cats, a rabbit, chickens, and turkeys.

Melissa Sullivan, Chief Operating Officer for both organizations, said, “Our incredible staff are at the heart of everything we do. Their dedication, warmth, and skill make a lasting difference in the lives of our patients and families. We’re proud to honor these team members and their years of meaningful service.”
