Pumpkinville Returns Sept. 13 with New Attractions, Family Favorites, and Elmo Corn Maze

From new animals and play areas to an Elmo-themed corn maze, Pumpkinville 2025 promises fresh fall fun alongside its beloved traditions.

For Lisa Pawlowski, one of the best parts of Pumpkinville is being able to hear the heart-warming stories of those who have made the oldest pumpkin farm in New York State an annual tradition. “Everybody that comes through has a story,” she reflected. “There are so many people that come in and tell us they’re the fourth generation of their family to come. Or this is the first year they get to bring their grandkids. Or their daughter moved away, so they’re going to buy pumpkin donuts and mail them to her!”

Pawlowski, whose family is now in its third generation of Pumpkinville ownership (founded in 1968 by Joe and Helen Halloran), is continually amazed by the many stories of those who no longer live in the area but still make a point to visit every fall. “It’s so nice to be able to hear all of those stories and make different family traditions for people,” she noted. Whether Pumpkinville has been part of your family fall traditions for years or you are new to the fun, this is the year to put Pumpkinville at the top of your fall must-do list! With revamped favorites, new activities, and seasonal treats galore, there are plenty of opportunities to make new memories at Pumpkinville.

The fun begins on opening day, which is Saturday, September 13th. Pumpkinville will be open daily from 9:00am-7:00pm through October 31st (open until 5:00pm on October 31st). Plans for this year’s Pumpkinville have been in the works for several months, according to Pawlowski, who noted what a busy summer she and her family had. “Some old favorites got refreshed a bit,” she said. “We did put in two new jumping pillows, and we upgraded our cow train… We got one with double cars, side-by-side, so it can hold more people. We built a new picnic pavilion that’s quite a bit larger than the old one, so that more people can eat under cover.”

Those who look forward to Pumpkinville’s bunny exhibit will be happy to know that this area is being upgraded, too. “We’ve included some cute little bunny houses, and we’re calling it Bunnyville, USA,” said Pawlowski. “There’ll be a larger variety of bunnies, and little babies.”

Other returning favorites include the pumpkin patch (a must!), the apple blasters, hayrides, gem mining, delicious baked goods, the beer garden, shopping and more. “We have added a couple of non-alcoholic versions this year to our beer list,” said Pawlowski. “We’ve always featured EBC beers, and we’re going to have their non-alcoholic Blueberry Wheat beer on tap.” Eric Jones, Guiness World Record holder for carving the world’s largest jack-o’-lantern and winner of Food Network’s third season of Outrageous Pumpkins, is returning to Pumpkinville with carving demonstrations every Sunday from 1:00-600pm beginning on September 21st.

There are plenty of new activities to enjoy in 2025. “Our Jack and Jenny Junction is a separate little animal location where people can visit our donkeys,” Pawlowski explained. “We have four of them, and one of them was just born in July… they’re a lot of fun! They’re silly and love to run around, and people will be able to interact with and visit and pet them.”

The rat maze is another new activity that is better experienced than described, Pawlowski noted. “It looks like a little shed, and it has one entrance and one exit,” she said. “There are four levels, and you follow it through this maze and come out - my kids have been enjoying that this summer!” Geared for ages four to 10 or 11, the rat maze is especially fun for siblings and friends to race one another to the exit!

Though not new, Pumpkinville’s corn maze features a new design every year, and this year, it’s the incomparable Elmo from Sesame Street! The Maize Inc. has partnered with Sesame Workshop to create Sesame Street themed corn mazes across over 30 local farms in the United States as part of the Sesame Street Road Trip Across America, and Pumpkinville is excited to be a part of this!
