Rotary Club & Volunteers Clean Up Ellicottville
The Rotary Club, ERA Team VP Real Estate, and friends of the Rotary gathered for a community clean up
ELLICOTTVILLE - On April 26th, members of the Rotary Club of Ellicottville, ERA Team VP Real Estate, and friends of the Rotary gathered for an incredibly successful community cleanup. The Rotary extends a heartwarming thank you to all 18 volunteers who took time out of their day to pitch in.
“It was beyond our expectations,” said a Rotary representative, “and everyone’s efforts made a huge difference in a short period of time, all around the village, the creeks, and the park, collecting many bags of garbage… and 35 cigarette butts directly under the butt receptacle!”
Following the cleanup, volunteers met for some social time at Mill Street Sports Pub, which was great fun. “Rotarians are never afraid of hard work, and they surely know how to party. Many thanks to Rotarian Anne Rothrock for her dedicated planning and coordinating of this event every year!”
On May 1, the Rotary Club of Ellicottville had an official visit from District Governor Dave Alexander and Area Governor Paula Bernstein. Rotary President, John Weismantel, gave Governor Alexander a tour of local sites where the Rotary Club of Ellicottville has contributed and served, including the Ellicottville Memorial Library, Ellicottville Central School, the Ellicottville Skatepark, the Rotary Auditorium and the Food Pantry.
After a delicious dinner at Dina’s upstairs, club Treasurer Anne Rothrock and President John Weismantel presented checks to the Governors for Rotary’s share in helping the eradication of polio and another for the good works of Rotary International. Governor Alexander offered generous compliments on the amazing growth of the Ellicottville club and gave praise for how far the club has come.
On a separate occasion, the Rotary Club of Ellicottville presented a check to Patti Snyder and Molly Timkey of the Ellicottville All Inclusive Playground project for the purchase of three Conga drums and 2 Tot swings with chains to be installed at the playground.
