Scorpio Season Brings Reflection, Renewal and Transformation
As Scorpio season arrives, Suzy Woo explores a period of reflection, release and renewal, with major planetary shifts offering opportunities for growth and transformation.
The second half of October continues to be packed with deeply rooted psychological matters, where if we pay attention and apply the lessons, transformation and growth can happen in at least one area of life.
During Libra season (now in its final week), the focus has been on the quality and balance of our relationships. What we tolerate or drains us needs to be addressed or may be coming to an end, while relationships that are reciprocal and fulfilling are worth maintaining and nurturing. When we feel triggered, those reactions bring things into our awareness, helping us recognize what is ready to be acknowledged and healed in this moment.
Key dates: Lord of the underworld Pluto comes out of his retrograde motion on the 15th, the sun enters Scorpio the 23rd, Mercury goes retrograde, joining retrograding Venus both in Scorpio the 24th, and the full moon in Taurus happens on the 26th.
My best advice is to know your ‘why,’ realize we are not on this planet very long to figure it out, stop wasting precious time on things with no return, live with conscious intention and focus, and see who is and isn’t supportive without taking it to heart.
There have been so many devastating situations involving breakups, deaths of loved ones, even more who recently had a pet cross over, slashing people from their lives, losing long-term jobs albeit in a toxic environment, and some (sudden, necessary) relocations. See, it’s an expiration date of sorts. When we don’t pay attention to the writing on the wall, or we don’t do the uncomfortable thing and swallow it down, the Universe steps in and jerks the rug from beneath us. Though painful, it’s something necessary. Or, if we are conscious and making adjustments as we go, it’s not as painful.
Rather than circling around with ‘Why?,’ it will serve better to reach for acceptance and integration to reveal the bright opportunity on the other side of it. As we move into Scorpio season, and during which both Mercury and Venus will move forward again, we will certainly emerge stronger.
Seeing astrology play out is forever fascinating. Based on celestial cycles and events studied and tracked over millennia, it offers a valuable language for understanding recurring patterns and applying that insight to everyday life. See below for a breakdown for all 12 zodiac signs. Check your rising sign first if known, and your sun sign.
ARIES RISING / SUN SIGN: With your ruling planet (Mars), Saturn and Jupiter all moving direct in fire signs, this is a good time for your physicality, vitality, individual projects, and creative endeavors to finalize and take flight; self-employment is supported as well.
TAURUS RISING / SUN SIGN: Your ruling planet (Venus) is retrograde in a sign it’s not strong in (Scorpio) directly opposite of you. This raises matters involving your partnerships, relationships, or clients. The full moon highlights the truth at the highest level. As the smoke clears, you’ll have more clear vision on your next moves. Certain relationships may reinforce trust through a tough time, while others may have fallen apart or trust was violated, destroyed or otherwise lost. Keep your head high.
GEMINI RISING / SUN SIGN: Pluto moving direct in fellow air sign Aquarius in your career sector helps you move forward with renewed motivation; it’s a good time for socializing, reconnecting and networking. Where you didn’t get a response or got a negative response before, now may get the green light.
CANCER RISING / SUN SIGN: The shift into Scorpio season accompanied by the Taurus full moon will draw you inwards, potentially opening a time capsule from your own childhood. You may hear or sense ancestors for reflection and consideration. You may experience tough truths with your children; try to hold neutral and give them space.
LEO RISING / SUN SIGN: Mars and Saturn in fire signs are helping you pick up speed to gain the name or recognition you seek. A teaching opportunity and/or a word from one who has been where you want to go can bring invaluable insight at this time. Pluto going direct in your opposite sign helps you see interesting partnership or relationship potentials while the full moon squares you, clicking your big picture into action.
VIRGO RISING / SUN SIGN: Your thoughts have been in some deep places. If you can allow yourself to sit with these thoughts, it’s good material for something, maybe your own therapeutic medicine. The full moon highlights teachers and mentors as well as travel plans and opportunities to further your skills.
LIBRA RISING / SUN SIGN: It’s a great time to clean up debts in order to deepen your own pockets for more income potential. You may actually get a rebate, refund, financial tip-off or break! Pluto moving direct boosts energy in your love and romance sector, including personal creative endeavors and helping clear roadblocks there for yourself, and if applicable, children.
SCORPIO RISING / SUN SIGN: Big moves now with your modern ruler Pluto coming out of retrograde, while your traditional ruler Mars is loving being in fire along with Jupiter and Saturn, all picking the lock to moving forward in profound ways, especially with public/career life. Truth you knew before finally is aired, and while the full moon squares you, its ruler Venus is retrograde in your sign, so there is deep introspection and you may be missing certain people, but you are very supported.
SAGITTARIUS RISING / SUN SIGN: So much happening in the subconscious part of your chart, messages and strong symbolism in dreams and downtime. Pluto moving direct supports new concepts and ideas coming in for consideration. You may start seeing certain people or situations in a new light, and may choose to re-route. The full moon highlights anything previously ignored with health and demands paying closer attention to the needs of the body. Show others you love them by taking great care of yourself.
CAPRICORN RISING / SUN SIGN: Friends in high places can really benefit you now and in coming weeks; be sure to voice your desires or goals. The universe responds when we ASK. The full moon is supporting your creativity, sense of humor, and love and romance sector. You find or gain the missing information you seek and have a grateful sense of renewal.
AQUARIUS RISING / SUN SIGN: Lots of activity for your partner/partnerships or with clientele. Learn to leverage this to your advantage via support and expressed care. Information needed supports progress in your public life or in career. Pluto moving forward in your sign takes some of the pressure and weight off you.
PISCES RISING / SUN SIGN: Witnessing the ugly side of people or a situation may be hard to stomach, but it was necessary for bigger reasons. It may have deepened a bond or the opposite, pushing you away from who/what was actually not healthy for you. Health and daily routines are featured for some time - be sure to honor your health and body so it takes good care of you. Great new opportunities rising as you serve others as only you know how!
As we enter Scorpio season, it becomes a time for detoxing, purging, and cleansing our emotional and mental bodies, taking a self-inventory and “cleaning house.” We must work on our traumas with appropriate outlets, and release toxicity originating from our past to pave the way for a better quality of life wanting to come in. We can’t hold anything new and promising for our future if our arms are still full of the past. It is a time to honor ancestors, ask for guidance and be still enough to receive it when it shows up. Talk to your guides and departed loved ones. That’s what the whole ‘Halloween’ season is actually about.
