For its fifth year running, spanning over a three-day period across two venues, athletes of all skill levels and ages will huddle up in Ellicottville for the 2021 Lacrosse Festival.

Music. Classic cars. Great food. Put them all together and you get your chance to close out summer in style at Ellicottville’s Rock N’ Roll Weekend.

Edna Northrup passed away on September 8, 2021. She died surrounded by family at her home on the Pengilly Hill Farm in Ellicottville, NY. Visitation will be at the Yodeler Lodge at Holiday Valley on Friday, September 10th and Saturday, September 11th.

Ellicottville is proud to be a Tree City USA, which means we inventory and curate our beloved Village trees. A few were removed on Thursday morning that were overgrown and/or diseased. Some will just get a haircut.

Holiday Valley was recently recognized by two local publications with two prominent awards. Buffalo Spree named Holiday Valley the winner of its reader-voted Best Family Fun (winter) award. And the Buffalo News voters gave the resort the Best of 716 Best Ski Resort in WNY.

Ellicottville Central Superintendent Bob Miller sat down with ellicottvilleNOW to discuss the school’s reopening plans and updates on the school’s capital project, including the school’s plan to operate 5 days a week for all students, and a more “normal” pattern for fall sports.

Advocates of the proposed Ellicottville Skatepark are excited to announce a major grant that puts the project within reach of its goal. The Niagara Frontier Automobile Dealers Association has awarded $100,000 to the Ellicottville project.

Holiday Valley hosted the 18th annual Ellicottville Library Pro Am on August 9th with a field of 84 players competing, including 21 WNY PGA Pros and 63 local amateurs. The players enjoyed a beautiful day and the Library appreciates the great support. 

A move to repopulate Ellicottville with full-time residents is becoming a key issue in the discussions surrounding the Downtown Revitalization Initiative project.

The Ellicottville Town Board, during its monthly meeting, talked to Animal Control Officer Paul Timkey who wants to continue in his job but recommended the town contract for placement services with the SPCA of Cattaraugus County.

The weather was beautiful, the food was outstanding, and our village was full of smiles and laughter. This past weekend we celebrated our annual Taste of Ellicottville which included 19 local restaurants.

Since 2015, Paws of Honor has made it their mission to bring awareness to retired K9s across America. It is now responsible for the care of over 200 ex-military and law enforcement dogs across 17 states.

On Saturday, August 28th, the Rotary Club of Ellicottville invites you to an evening of food, fun and good vibes with its annual Tuscan Moon event, taking place at Holiday Valley’s Cabana Bar.

Just when you thought your “hobbies basket” was full, here comes mushrooming. Commonly associated with rot and decay, local mycology enthusiast Quincey Widger carved out some time to set the record straight.

Ellicottville is an area of WNY known for so many things; the famed ski slopes, the plethora of unique shops and restaurants, the hiking and all-around outdoor adventure. This weekend, the downtown village will shift its focus to the tasteful flavors of its restaurants. 

Hunters and trappers, hikers and birders, the Poverty Hill Wildlife Management Area is open to public access and joins the Ellicottville area's long list of outdoor recreation attractions.
