Bob McCarthy Foundation Donates to Alley Katz to Support Ellicottville Beautification Efforts

The annual donation helps the Alley Katz maintain flower baskets, planters, gardens, and seasonal displays that enhance the beauty of Ellicottville for residents and visitors alike.

ELLICOTTVILLE - The Bob McCarthy Foundation continues their support of the Alley Katz with a $500.00 donation to help with their efforts keeping the Village of Ellicottville beautiful. The Alley Katz meet on Tuesday mornings to plant, weed, trim, and clean the many barrels, planters, and hanging baskets that make our community so attractive. You can see their wonderful plantings throughout the village and we are thankful for the beautiful container at the Bob McCarthy Medical Loan Center on Mill Street.

“This group does a tremendous job in the village and deserves accolades for their hard work and dedication,” said Kathleen Moriarty, who presented the donation on behalf of the Bob McCarthy Foundation. This year the Alley Katz are installing 58 hanging flower baskets, 20 flower barrel containers, along with Creekside beds and the Alley Katz garden. They do the Gazebo Design for 4 distinct seasons along with the library entrance plant design and landscape.

The group continues to look for donations to help with their wish list of metal planters to replace wooden ones and other expansion projects at the library and historical building. See more about this great group on Facebook and think about donating to keep Ellicottville beautiful.

Our board continues to recognize this wonderful community organization who make our little village beautiful for residents and visitors alike. Pictured receiving the check are Dawn Westfall and Ellen Frank.
