Due to the recent climb in COVID-19 infection rates in Cattaraugus County, the Ellicottville Town Board held its Nov. 17th monthly meeting by telephone and took steps to ramp up renovations at the Town Center.

Who needs all the hustle and bustle and stress of spending Black Friday at the Mall when the whole family can enjoy the kickoff to the holiday season in Ellicottville?

The Mad Crazy Batter Bakery in Great Valley is celebrating their first year in business. Rachael Ferguson, co-owner, told me, “Our first year open has been great! We have learned so much!”

“It seems like just yesterday I was dreaming of owning my own wine and spirits shop,” said Shannon Carscallen, owner of E-Ville Spirits & Wines. Now Carscallen is thrilled to be celebrating a milestone not many small businesses achieve.

The Franklinville-Ellicottville Titans dropped a tough 26-0 loss to the Randolph Cardinals in the Class D ‘Super Bowl’ at Highmark Stadium on November 12th.

After several months of hard work by HoliMont Board of Directors and staff, HoliMont has secured an agreement to provide ON-SITE PCR TESTING AT NO COST beginning Thursday, November 11, 2021.

The Town Planning Board set a public hearing for an unusual accessory apartment project; Approves permit for a mural display on the wall of The Boardroom Snowboard Shop.

Both Ellicottville Men’s and Women’s Varsity Soccer teams advance to Regionals. The Lady Eagles head to Caledonia-Mumford HS on Nov. 5th and the men’s team heads to Williamsville on the 6th.

SKI Magazine subscribers received a survey in March to rate their favorite ski resorts in several categories and Holiday Valley Resort has been ranked number 2 in eastern North America by readers for 2022.

Last week, thanks to a generous donation from the Elisa B. Hughey Fund for the Arts, several kids were able to attend a class at the Ellicottville Memorial Library to create their own Halloween mask. 

Ellicottville Central School is excited to announce that the Elementary Halloween Parade will take place in downtown Ellicottville this Friday, Oct. 29th. Students will depart the school at 12:45pm with the parade to start at 1:00pm.

The Ellicottville Town Board has scheduled a public hearing on Nov. 3rd to receive comments & vote on a preliminary 2022 budget. The Board did not discuss the plan in detail, but has held several work sessions on the budget in recent weeks.
