Ellicottville Town Board: June Meeting Notes

Ellicottville Town Board: Rodeo Requests Noise Permit; Board Approves Inter-Municipal Water & Sewer System Agreement; Town Hall Door Project Delayed

The Town Board of Ellicottville held their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, June 18th to review the most current events and agenda. Starting off the evening, the Ellicottville Championship Rodeo organization requested a noise permit from the Town until 1:00 am for each night of the event, running from July 3rd through July 6th. They also requested the Town’s support in the form of an official letter that would show that there is no objection from the Town for the Rodeo’s application for a temporary beer and wine permit. The Town agreed to both requests and will issue the noise permit as well as a letter from the Town Clerk. The Town of Ellicottville welcomed three new hires throughout various departments. Starting with the Police Department, Clayton Rowland, a recent graduate of the Police academy, will be a full-time police officer. Superintendent Brumagin of the Highway Department has added Austin Woodarek to their team. He brings with him a CDL Class B license and will be a full-time employee. The part-time Court Clerk position for Judge Stokes has been filled by Mary Jo Woodarek.

Councilman Steve Crowley recently researched the Inter-Municipal agreements regarding the tax rates within the water districts of Mansfield and Great Valley. It was found that Great Valley has a slightly lower rate in comparison to Mansfield, whose lots are in a special district and have higher assessments. The Board approved the Inter-Municipal Water and Sewer System agreement involving the Town of Ellicottville and the Towns of Great Valley and Mansfield.

The Town Hall Door Project experienced a slight delay due to the production process of the insulated glass. The shop drawings have been submitted to Flynn & Battaglia for final planning. It is expected to be completed by early July.
The Town Center floor resurfacing project has officially been completed with great results.

An update was made to the scheduling of the culvert replacements so that budgeting can be planned efficiently. The two replacements will be on Crane Road and Kruse Road Bridge. Both schedules are aligned with the expectation set for construction to begin by early 2026.

As a reminder to residents in the Town, the lead service line inventory is still in process. Response letters should be sent back in a timely manner so that updates can be made regarding the current information on file.

Planner/engineer Greg Keyser is continuing to work on a separate Town of Ellicottville website. The aim is to have an independent site for the Town to allow information to be better sorted and understood. New York State has approved a new domain for the Town as they prepare the website.

The Route 219 Sidewalk extension is still ongoing as the Town coordinates with the State on the necessary permits required for the project. In the meantime, the Town will work with Mark Burr , consulting engineer, to prepare a plan for submission.

With discussions coming to a close, the Town Board of Ellicottville, NY ended the evening’s meeting and will reconvene in July. For further information, check out the current website of the Town at www.ellicottvillegov.com.
